Did the good stories make him more faithful? Did the ugly ones bring more doubt? Do they divorce at a lower rate?
When Belief Overrides the Ethics of Journalism - Nieman Reports
Do they have fewer abortions? While reading the book, you will likely explore your own faith journey, no matter your age.
You can argue all you want that it should be about God and not people, but who is the church filled with? Prove me wrong. I admire his candor about this explosive story.
I also admire his subsequent scrambling when the scandal could no longer be ignored. His coverage of the Catholic scandal then opened up stories about other controversies—from Mormon excommunications to a two-part series detailing the lavish spending by founders of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, a worldwide television empire based in Orange County. During this time, Lobdell went from promoting religion to deciding it was his mission to right its wrongs.

Before leaving the Los Angeles Times last year, Lobdell wrote a front page confession of this journey, which led to him to write this book. He is a compelling, gifted writer.
His conversational style served him well in journalism as it does on the pages of his book.
But his writing skills provide little solace for my indignation and my sadness, for him and for my beloved profession. Lobdell is right about one thing. This book knows how to push buttons for powerful God let his children suffer? One can only conclude that Wegner mention other theodicy worldviews e. For Lobdell, Noise barely mentioned with Underworld which his myopic Calvinistic approach could not answer dominates a whole chapter.
Doubtless some may read these perplexing questions. A God that answered some this book with more joy and pleasure than I was able prayers while ignoring others seemed like a capricious to muster. Of course, some may even turn to it for God, and not someone toward whom he could devote illumination as well. Good luck to them.
